Thank you for looking at the website.
It probably means that you’re thinking about Ashlands in Leicester (or some other Prime Life care home) for you or a family member. Choosing a care home is a very difficult-and very big-decision. It’s also one that you may be having to make in a hurry–like I had to when I moved my mum into Ashlands. Finding information to help you make up your mind can be very difficult. It can be useful to hear from people who have had direct experience of the home. And that’s why I wanted to share my own and my mum’s experience of Ashlands and the company that runs it.
She moved into Ashlands in late summer 2013. Within a month I’d given notice, and she moved out one month later. In the pages on this site you can read more about:
- The failures in almost every aspect of my mum’s care in Ashlands
- What the Care Quality Commission has said after its inspections of Ashlands
- The court case that I fought-and won- against PrimeLife because of my concerns about the quality of care
- The way in which PrimeLife responded when I raised concerns and when I took them to court
- Information obtained from the Care Quality Commission about the quality of care at the other 55 homes that the company runs
- Headlines that PrimeLife care homes have made over the last few years as a result of the poor quality of care that was provided
I hope that this information will be helpful to you when you come to weigh up the pros and cons of moving a member of your family into Ashlands or some other PrimeLife home.
